GOD'S GARDEN
God looked around His Garden
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the Earth
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God's Garde must bebeautiful---
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering:
He knew you were in pain.
He also knew in Heaven
you would never hurt again.
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills harder to climb.
So He closed your weary eveys and whispered
"Peace Be Thine"
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
the day God called you Home.
If tears could build a staircase,
and memories a lane,
We would walk all the way to heaven
and bring you home again.
Our Mom and dad meet in Boyle Heights in 1965, There is where it all began. Priscilla falling in love with most handsome boy she thought she would ever see. And of course dad taking it all in and knew he was the most handsome boy around. At that point mom didn’t know that she was already under the love spell of my dad. As time passed their love grew stronger for one another. Of course their relationship at times had its challengers and hurtles. Which they obviously were able to over come with a lot of patients, love, and help of all the prayers my mom, grandmothers and anyone else that would pray for us.
Soon they were blessed with five yes five children. Marcella (Dad’s PUMKIN), Artie (Dad’s BOY), Yolanda (Dad’s FLACA), Brandy (Dad’s HERSEY BAR), and Paul (Dad’s BABY). I don’t think that mom and dad ever imagined how much love they had in their hearts until they would have their BUNDLE of 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. After the first grandchild was born the glow in their eyes never faded.
As we grew and left home. My parents had grown older and started to settle from their hectic lives and started enjoying the most important thing each other. They would spend some mornings at Denny’s for coffee then maybe following up with a movie in the afternoon.
Dad had a love for drawing, he did most of his work while he was away what he called college. I was proud to show and let everyone know that MY dad drew this…We would request certain things to be drawn. Or when the mail came in and it didn’t have a one of us girls specifically named we would argue about who dad really drew that for.
Even though dad had read the bible from front to back several times and could recite verses on the spot. He never liked to go to church. Dad finally granted my mom’s most wanted wish and started to ask to go to church with us. I loved to see his smile and hear his voice sing out loud during worship, by the time the service started he was exhausted and I would have to elbow him so he could stay awake for the next hour.
In a conversation with my dad he had mentioned that he knew that a lot of people may have thought that he didn’t have a relationship with GOD, because the choices he made. He said I may struggle and resist, but I do know GOD and I know what to do to be able to enter his kingdom… With that my heart and my mind is at ease and I know we will see him again.
